Diving into the world of quadcopters

I’ve been a lurker out on the fringes of the quadcopter FPV (First Person View) Racing community for a while now, but last month I decided to take the leap and build my own quad.

I started with Youtube. It’s funny how this has become my new route for learning basically anything. Tie a bow tie? Build a fence? Write an app? Build a quad? Whatever you want to learn how to do, there is an extremely good chance someone already made a video explaining how to do it. After watching several hour-long tutorials, I landed on Mike’s videos from Not only are his videos super clear and easy to follow, but they helped me understand how simple the basic building blocks of quads really are. I gathered up a stack of old amazon gift cards I had laying around and started stocking up on parts.
