Diving into the world of quadcopters

I’ve been a lurker out on the fringes of the quadcopter FPV (First Person View) Racing community for a while now, but last month I decided to take the leap and build my own quad.

I started with Youtube. It’s funny how this has become my new route for learning basically anything. Tie a bow tie? Build a fence? Write an app? Build a quad? Whatever you want to learn how to do, there is an extremely good chance someone already made a video explaining how to do it. After watching several hour-long tutorials, I landed on Mike’s videos from fpv-flightclub.com. Not only are his videos super clear and easy to follow, but they helped me understand how simple the basic building blocks of quads really are. I gathered up a stack of old amazon gift cards I had laying around and started stocking up on parts.
